The Bandon Library Friends and Foundation (BLFF) supports the Library through

  • fundraising book sales – including the Never-Ending Book Sale and the Fall Silent Auction in the library
  • providing funds for projects and acquisitions as requested by the library
  • sponsoring activities to advance literature and learning
  • offering programs to enrich the lives of children, families, seniors and readers.

The Bandon Public Library meets community information needs by providing books, electronic media, public internet access, and other resources.   While tax dollars keep the buildings open and the library staffed,  BLFF’s support and your donations provide funding for books, DVD’s, magazines, furniture and other improvements, and innovative new programs.

Thank you 100 Strong for
your support of the Bandon Library.

100 Strong presented a $3,700 check on behalf of Bandon’s fantastic 100 Strong Women organization to representatives of the Bandon Library Friends & Foundation (BLFF). The BLFF will use 100 Strong funds to purchase new books and other essential programs that enrich Bandon residents.

2025 Silent Auction Fundraiser
October 23 – November 12

The Silent Auction was FUN and SUCCESSFUL!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the silent auction this year! It brought in $1,165. All proceeds go to our general fund for the library. There were many positive comments from the winners. Everyone had fun and is looking forward to next October’s silent auction.

BLFF LIFETIME MEMBERS CLUB
Lifetime Members Club Does it Again!

The 2025-26 project was to raise $6,805 for replacing the outdated 25-year-old overhead fluorescent lights with LED lights in the stacks for the young adult/adult book and media area. This will give better light and save some money on electric bills. A small group of lifers made this happen with extra left for other things. The library subject signs on the shelves will be updated. Possibly more floor lamps, too. And of course, as promised, we’ll be adding more large-print books,  the price of which can often run twice as much as a regular book.

Lifetime members have generously supported these annual special library projects.  The 2023-24 project was to pay the Bandon Library utility bills for FY2023-24.  The 2024-25 project was adding windows that open in the Kid’s Zone.  Become a lifetime member of BLFF and join us next fall to raise funds for a Bandon Library special project.  Contact Cathy at  lifetimemembers@bandonlff.org.

2024  Fundraising Project: Children’s Area Improvements

Many of the library’s new programs are youth centered and they have recently been able to add a new part-time children’s librarian due to a grant. With all this new activity and the number of attendees, it has become apparent that the children’s library can become stuffy. This is due in part to the fact that the windows in that section of the library do not open. Christine Kingsbury, Library Director, has received a quote of just over $2000 for two replacement windows with a section that opens to allow airflow. This is a smaller ask than in some previous years. Any additional funds raised would go towards new materials for teens and adults.

2023 Fundraising Project:  Cover Bandon Library Utility Bills for FY2024

The LMC donated $12,950 towards the Bandon Library’s utility costs. The donation was a welcome surprise to library staff who have had to do more with less in the past few years to meet the needs of library patrons. The funds will be used to defray the library’s utility costs this fiscal year.

2021 Fundraising for Young Adult Area and Comfy Chairs for Adults

LMC raised $4,681. The new library director, Christine Kingsbury, decided to use these funds to reinvent the dismantled YA or Young Adult area. The YA books are in a new location – to the right when you enter the stacks of books in the far room of the library. There is space for the old cafe-style tables and chairs that the teens like and use. See more about LMC.

Upgraded A/V Equipment in Logan/Friends and Sprague Community Conference Rooms.

Flat Screen TV and a web conferencing camera for training and meetings. Reserve a conference room today for your in-person or hybrid training or meeting.
