Author Night Events for 2016
DISCONTINUED PROGRAM. SEE BOOK CLUB NIGHTS FOR THE 3RD MONDAY ACTIVITY IN MONDAY NIGHTS AT THE LIBRARY
|Russell Lloyd -- "Writing for Live Stage"|
Russell Lloyd is a playwright, actor, director, proofreader and producer. He will present an overview of what an author must consider when writing a story to be presented on live stage, given the special requirements for this medium.
|February 15||Peter Poulson -- "Writing Behind the Gray Line: Writing Fiction and Non-fiction Behind the Closed Doors of National Security"|
|March 21||Rebeca Jones -- "Scriptwriting for Youth Performers"|
Authoring scripts for youth performers includes many considerations not encountered when playwriting for adult performers. These special considerations, as well as general goals and standard production requirements will be discussed by author Rebeca Jones, whose second play is currently in rehearsal. Ms. Jones' presentation is an opportunity for “mature” attendees and younger people to learn about a writing craft that is unique and interesting. Her presentation, the third Author Night of this year, will continue our effort to explore an increased array of authorship categories.
You, your children, and your grandchildren are invited. Perhaps this will be an invitation for more youth involvement in young persons’ productions, including scriptwriting.
