Limited edition of 999/ #95. Signed by the editior Robert Arnot (after printed) and (artist in printing process) on the full color fold-out limitation page. 20 volumes in full leather "Saint Dunstan" binding, color leather inlays with gold gilt on top boards. Marble like end papers, top edge gilt, art rag edges, red ribbon markers. Colored frontispieces in each volume. Illustrated throughout with black and white plates covered with onion skin like paper. Each volume is about 300 or more pages.
Sample volumes; "Vivian Grey" II frontispiece by M. Walter Dunne, "Sybil" XIV frontispiece by Clare Victor Dwigging, "Lothair" frontispiece by Herman Rountree. Each volume has other poems, speeches, etc., within.
CONDITION: 17 volumes are in good-very good condition for age. leather needs oiling. All volumes have pages that were NOT cut during production. "Venetia, Etc." XI has a torn page (all there) 53/54.
3 volumes have damaged outer spine coverings; "The Young Dude" IV - worn otter spine front side. "Henrietta Temple" VIII - outside leatherspine split on front side. "Henrietta Temple" IX - outer leather spine split and approx 3" has broken off but is with the book. If you put it back together there still would be name/volume number missing.
All 20 volumes: no odors, very clean for 105 years old, beautifully made and illustrated. |
